What is the Formula Bar?
Explanation about the Formula Bar
The Formula Bar is a toolbar at the top of an Excel workbook, just beneath the Ribbon. It is an area where you can enter or copy a cell’s content or formula.
To enter content, such as text or numbers, into a cell through the use of the Formula Bar, click on the Formula Bar. You will notice a flashing vertical line appear in the Formula Bar. That represents that you have selected the Formula Bar and you can begin entering your content. As you type the content in the Formula Bar you will also notice the same content appear in the selected cell.
To enter the formula in the Formula Bar you are required to being the formula with an equals sign (=), followed by the formula. As you begin typing the formula in the Formula Bar the same content will appear in the selected cell. However, when you have completed the formula and have selected another cell the result of the formula will be displayed in the cell whilst the Formula Bar will only display the formula.
